Logo rights
Last updated October 4, 2026
The short version: when you pay for a logo, it is yours. Use it anywhere, for anything, for as long as you like.
What you own
When you pay for a logo, we give you every right we have in that logo. You own it. You do not need to credit Yay! Logo, and you never pay again to keep using it.
- Use it for business or personal projects.
- Print it on anything: signs, packaging, clothing, vehicles.
- Change it, or have a designer change it.
- Apply to register it as a trademark.
- Sell it or hand it over together with your business.
Logos you have not paid for
Logo ideas you see on screen before paying carry a Yay! Logo watermark. They are previews. They stay ours until you pay for them.
Please do not use a preview as your logo, and do not remove or hide the watermark. Screenshots of previews are fine for asking a friend or a partner what they think.
What we will not do with your logo
We will not sell your paid logo to anyone else, and we will not show it in our ads, on our website or on social media unless you say yes first.
Three honest limits
Our logos are drawn by software with the help of AI. That brings three limits you should know about before you build a brand on one.
- We cannot promise that no similar logo exists. Simple shapes and letters can look alike, and another customer could be shown a similar idea. Before you print a lot or file a trademark, search for logos like yours in your field.
- We cannot promise that a trademark office will accept your logo. That depends on your name, your industry and the marks already registered. A trademark attorney can check this for you.
- The law on copyright for work made with AI is still being settled, and it differs by country. We give you all the rights we have. We cannot promise that copyright law protects the logo everywhere.
Fonts
The lettering in your logo comes from open source typefaces under the SIL Open Font License. Your files hold the letters as drawn shapes, so you can use the logo commercially without buying a font.
Fix my current logo
When you use Fix my current logo, the logo is yours, or you have the right to use it, before you start. We clean it up and give you sharp files. We claim no rights in it.
Only upload a logo that belongs to you or that you have permission to use. The picture you upload stays in your browser. It is never sent to us.
Your business name
We draw the name you type. We do not check whether that name is free to use or already belongs to someone else. That check is yours to make.
